From Santa to story time, from a torchlight parade to crafting, the schedule promises much to do and see at this year’s Eaglecrest Ski Area Christmas Eve Celebration kicking off at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24.
According to the program of events posted on the ski area’s website, the Heartstrings are scheduled to kick off the festivities with live music just after 3 p.m. At 3:30 p.m. crafting in the main lodge will begin, followed by offerings of refreshments, story time presented by the Juneau Public Libraries at 4:30 p.m., two torchlight parades — one down the Hooter ski lift at 5 p.m., and another down Porcupine around 6 p.m. Finally, Santa will arrive just after the torchlight parade on Porcupine.
Santa will also be giving away gifts and those. Parents interested in having their child receive one are required to pre-register by going online to http://www.skijuneau.com/Christmas_Eve.php and clicking on the registration link at the bottom of the page.
Eaglecrest will also be open daily for the winter break beginning on Thursday, Dec. 19 and running through Monday, Jan. 6, 2014. The only exception will be Christmas day, when the ski area will not be open.
