Friday Fireside Lecture on Lituya Bay

Posted: January 24, 2014 - 1:00am

Local author Lynn Schooler will speak this evening on Lituya Bay, a “magical enigma,” as part of the Fireside Lecture series at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center.

The talk will address a 1958 tsunami that sent waves 1,700 feet above sea level.

The lecture will take place at 6:30 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. at the visitor center.

Schooler’s books will be available for purchase and signing. This event is free and open to the public.
