Neary to talk on changes at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

The Southeast Chapter of the Alaska Wildlife Alliance is holding its final “Wildlife Wednesday” of the season with guest speaker John Neary, Director of the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center. The title of the talk is “Changes Coming to Your Backyard Glacier and Those Who Depend on It.” Neary will talk about the challenges of accommodating 450,000 annual visitors seeking views of a shrinking glacier. He’ll also talk about changes the center is considering, like more viewing platforms and trails.

The event will be held at the Glacier Visitor Center at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2.
