What's in Bloom: Gardeners!

Carrie Goodbrake and Chelsie Harris smile while tending to the vegetable garden at the Jensen-Olson Arboretum.

This year, the plants have thrived at the Jensen-Olson Arboretum due in great measure to the efforts of our seasonal gardeners.

Carrie Goodbrake and Chelsie Harris brought a sense of purpose to the job that one rarely finds. Their dedication can easily be seen and appreciated with a stroll around the grounds observing the well-tended beds. Their love for their jobs translates into a sight to behold — rain or shine. Welcoming and chatting with visitors is also something they both enjoy.

So, when you see them working in the flower beds or vegetable garden, be sure to thank them for their hard work and devotion to one of Juneau’s garden gems.

• “What’s in Bloom” is a regular feature that runs during the year’s warmer months and features blooming plants at the city-owned Jensen-Olson Arboretum.
