Removing the canopies from the Goldstein Building on Seward. Originally constructed in 1914 for Charles Goldstein for a cost of K. At one time the building housed the AK State Legislature and the Governors Office. Fire gutted the building in 1939 leaving only the exterior concrete walls. Interior was restored & building reopened in 1946. from CBJ Inventory of Historic Sites & Structures 1986.

Front & Seward

A conceptual model of Sealaska Heritage Institute’s (SHI) new cultural center that is proposed to be built on the corner of Front & Seward Street in the Juneau downtown historic district. APRN (KTOO Juneau) reports that once design work is finalized, SHI plans to begin fundraising to help pay the nearly million construction costs.
