JDHS girls No. 2, boys No. 3 in final WPI

The Final Winning Percentage Index released Tuesday has the defending 4A girls’ basketball champion Juneau-Douglas second, and the Crimson Bears boys third.

If the girls and boys win the ongoing Region V 3A/4A Basketball Tournaments at JDHS this week, the girls will be the state tourney No. 2 seed, while the boys will be the third seed.

On the girls’ side, Wasilla came out No. 1 with a 17-2 record against other teams from the WPI. JDHS finished 16-1 against WPI opponents.

Ketchikan finished 11th, and TMHS 19th.

Barlett topped the boys’ list, followed by West Anchorage and JDHS. Ketchikan was ninth and TMHS 20th.

The state tourney is March 15-17 in Anchorage.
