Thomas was one of several Southeast Alaskans to compete in the marathon, which featured 27,000 competitors from all over the world. Thomas, 42, finished in 3 hours, 54 minutes and 24 seconds. Scott Watts, of Auke Bay, finished in 3:03:01, Ketchikan’s David Anderes finished in 3:40:11, and Douglas’ Hilary Young finished 377th overall in 3:14:38. Young’s time was the best of 36 Alaskans in the race.
