Ketchikan Invitational Results

Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated the order of boys 300-meter hurdles finishers, due to an error by the track meet staff. The Thunder Mountain High School boys team placed third in the meet, not second. This article has been updated to reflect this change.

The Thunder Mountain High School girls took first place in the Ketchikan Invitational over the weekend with 186 points. The Juneau-Douglas High School girls finished in third.

Ketchikan High School ran away with the boys title with 145 points. TMHS came in third place and JDHS finished in fifth.

Falcons Tzadi Hauck, Hannah Deer and Audrey Welling were dominant in their respective events. Hauck swept the 100 and 200-meter dashes, Deer swept the 400 and 800-meter runs and Welling swept the 100 and 300-meter hurdles.

JDHS’ Sadie Tuckwood and Arne Ellefson-Carnes topped the field in the 1,600-meter runs. Tuckwood finished in 5 minutes, 30 seconds, while Ellefson-Carnes completed the race in 4:41, beating Sitka’s Dominic Baciocco by less than a second.

Like Hauck, TMHS senior Erick Whisenant won both the 100 and 200-meter dashes.

The teams head to the Sitka Invitational next weekend.
