In what could easily pass as a football score the Juneau-Douglas High School hockey team outshot, outplayed and outhustled visiting Delta Junction 11-6 on Friday.
The Crimson Bears’ first series of the season saw a flurry of goals as Tod Basden and Jonathan Weston both had hat tricks on Friday. Weston accounted for six points with three assists and Bill Holbrook assisted on four goals.
JDHS led 6-3 after one period and 9-5 after two and cruised through the final ice time.
Dillon Tomaro scored once and had two assists, Dalton L’Allier notched two, Zach Easton scored once, and Matt Campbell once.
Zach Bichnell had two assists, Ethan Seid one.
Clay Jenkins led Delta Junction with three goals and two assists.
The Crimson Bears’ did amass nine penalties Friday to three for the Huskies.
Colter Pritchard had 27 saves on 33 shots while the Crimson Bears blasted the visitors with 32.
