The reason you play the games came to light during the Juneau Parks & Recreation’s 2011 Division 2 Women’s Volleyball League Tournament last week. Air Excursions finished the regular season with one loss (17-1) and had the number one seed heading into the post season tournament. Air Excursions was defeated by second place First National Bank (16-2) in the beginning of tournament play and forced into the elimination bracket. Air Excursions battled through eliminations to again face FNB. The teams tied with a game apiece and Air Excursions came from behind to win the third game off the serves of Ella Nierra, giving FNB their first loss of the tournament and forcing a final match for the championship. FNB won the final match to win the tournament. An Air Excursions player noted that “It was a great ending to a great season of fun and friendly rivalry.
