The Juneau Rollergirls found themselves on the bottom of a scoring differential against a member of the Anchorage’s Rage City Rollergirls league on Saturday night.
Rage City’s Dirty Pollis clobbered Juneau 283-41 at Anchorage’s Dena’ina Center.
The Dirty Pollis went round-and-round to an 80-point lead in the first half.
According to one Anchorage skater, “It was pretty devastating.”

I know I'm a little late on this but:
jeez, klaus. thanks for the effort on this one.
Nothing about how this was our absolute first travel against another team ever (who, by the way, is undefeated and have skated together for five years) and how hard we worked to get there and what stellar effort was given? We weren't expected to score 20 points-- let alone 41.
And one would think, being the only roller derby team in Juneau--along with being the only sporting event that people get pretty fired up about because it's the closest thing we really have to an arena sport (complete with face painters and the like), and you, being someone who writes for our hometown paper, might want to end this blurb on something a little more encouraging than "It was pretty devastating."
What would be truly devastating is if our fans--the wonderful members of the Juneau community--actually reflected your obvious lack of enthusiasm for a burgeoning non-profit Roller Derby League (built from the ground up FOR Juneau, BY Juneau!)
Thank goodness--as evidenced by our continually sold out bouts--they appreciate what we love to give them: AN AWESOME SPORTING DISPLAY OF DERBY!
