Town Downhill ski/snowboard competition set for Saturday

Anchorage Ski Club coach Kristen Brandner, a former Juneau-Douglas High School student and Juneau Ski Club racer, goes over the Upper Hilary's Giant Slalom course recently at Eaglecrest. The course, a Giant Slalom opening into a Super G, will be the site of Saturday's Town Downhiill Ski and Snowboard competition beginning at 9:45 a.m. The event is open to skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. Catagories include ages 10-12, 13-16 and 17 & up. A BBQ and Awards Ceremony will follow the races. Prizes for the top female and male in each catagory and T-shirts for the first 120 entries. Register by filling out a waiver download at skijuneau.com or at the JSC Race Room next to Mountain Lift Coffee Co. at Eaglecrest. Racers under 18 must have a parent sign their waiver.

Falcons salvage Shootout win
