The course featured a mixture of standard turns and gates creating a tactile awareness by blending sections of different gates in flowing, rhythmical and consistently changing pattern.
The course tested the skier’s ability to act and adapt to an ever-changing rhythm and radius but allowing the competitors smooth transistions between the various sections of gates.
Starting at the throat of Hilary’s Run the races blasted down the hill to the finish in two runs and then celebrated with a barbeque.
Today is the Juneau Ski Club’s final event, the Dress Up Slalom. The race will start at 1:30 p.m. to allow for the Easter Holiday events. The Dress Up Slalom features the racers in bright costumes and fast runs on the Lower Hilary’s Course.
