Juneau runners finish Boston Marathon

Juneau’s Pam Day, 53, and Carrie MacCaulay, 40, ran and finished the Boston Marathon on Monday.

Day posted an official time of 4 hours, 53 minutes and 5 seconds to finish 17015 overall an 6703 for women. Her pace per mile was 11:11.

MacCaulay finished in 5:02.45 for 17902 overall and 7145 for women. Her mile pace was 11:33.

Southeast was also represented by Wrangell’s Dale Mcmurren, 53, with a 4:17.05 time (9:49 mile pace) for 11892 overall and 7836 for men; and Sitka’s Stephen Langhorst, 55, with a 5:12.41 time (11:56 mile pace) for 18609 overall and 11125 for men). Alaska had 37 runners in the event. The top Alaskan was Anchorage’s Tom Ritchie, 38, with a 2:38.39 (6:04 mile pace) for 74th overall and 68th for men. The top Alaskan woman was Soldotna’s Heather Gaines with 3:28.45 (7:58 mile pace) for 2892 overall and 364 for women.
