The Treadwell Mines Mexican Basketball Team were the champions of Southeast Alaska in 1914. The "Mexican's" competed with other Treadwell mine teams that included the Machine shop, General Store, and Cyanides. They also battled Douglas High School, Juneau High School, Skagway's Athletic Club, Sitka Athletic Club, Wrangell and Ketchikan teams, and many more.
