The Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears volleyball team completed a weekend sweep of the Thunder Mountain Falcons with a 25-19, 17-25, 25-14 and 25-19 four game match win on Saturday at JDHS.
Chelsea Peterson led the Crimson Bears with 17 kills, five service aces and nine digs. Gracie Meiners and Kayla Balovich had eight kills apiece; Cora Bontrager led with 16 digs and Sally Paul added 12, Rachel Doogan 10 and Tori Fogg nine.
Kendra Wittwer led the Falcon with 5 kills and 2 aces; Kylie Ibias had three blocks, two kills and two aces; Makayla Pierce had two blocks and two kills; Katrina Greenlief had three aces; Jenna Luhrs tallied three kills, two blocks and one ace; and Michelle Manning had two blocks and two kills.
The Falcons travel to the 22-team West High School Spike-tacular Volleyball Tournament in Anchorage this weekend while the Crimson Bears host Ketchikan on Friday (8 p.m.) and Saturday (7 p.m.).
