Historical Sports: Opening Day 1925

This photo shows the opening of the Juneau City League baseball season in Juneau on May 10th, 1925. The group portrait shows Elks, Mose, Alaska-Juneau Mine, and American Legion baseball teams at Firemen's Ball Park. Included in the photo is Grover Winn (former U.S. Commissioner) eighth from left in dark hat and bow tie; "Dolly" Gray (former Juneau mayor) kneeling in front row at the extreme right wearing suit. The group of men in suits standing at left includes Governor Scott C. Bone (first) and Secretary Karl Theile (holding overcoat, third).
