The Juneau-Douglas High School tennis team finished third at last weekend's state tennis championships in Anchorage with 69 points, just edging out East High's 65. West won the team title with 140 points and South was second with 117. JDHS' Emma Good and Marc Heifetz were second in Mixed Doubles, Pelle Arthur was third in Girls Singles, Jasper MacNaughton and Sam Bibb place third in Boys Doubles, and Evan Carnahan, Jade Pilcher, and Kathe Tallmadge contributed with wins that added to the team point total. According to coach Amy Skilbred this was the first time that all members of the team were playing on the second day of the tournament. A story will run in Wednesday's paper.
