Youth attended St. Anns (located where Catholic Services now resides on 6th and Gold) through the 8th-grade and would play against teams from Harborview on Glacier Avenue or Capital School on Fifth Street, or the Fifth Street School. Players at St. Anns had an advantage when hosting other teams as the gym ceiling was unusually lower. The teams from St. Anns didn't need to arch their shots into the basket and could shoot anywhere after moving on.
"If you had any arch to your shot you hit the ceiling," one former opponent said. "And they had a good chance of beating us."
