Following are the Juneau-Douglas High School senior swim biographies as prepared by Crimson Bears coaches.
Jocelyn Cayce - Jocelyn has participated in JDHS Swim/Dive since her freshman year. She qualified for State her sophomore and junior years. Jocelyn typically specializes in butterfly and breaststroke but this year has shown improvement in her freestyle events. Jocelyn is the team keeper of the questions and is never shy to ask the questions others might not think of or feel comfortable asking. Because Jocelyn likes to know the answers she will be successful in her pursuit of a medical degree.
Talyn Ramos - Talyn has participated in JDHS Swim/Dive since her freshman year. She has qualified for State her freshman, sophomore and junior years. Talyn specializes in the sprint freestyle events (50 and 100 yard). She can often be heard offering words of encouragement to her teammates during harder dry land or water sets. Talyn has a good talent for organizing and motivating; she is very driven to succeed at all she does. These skills will work to her advantage when she gets her college degree in Human Resources or business management.
Jonah Swanson - Jonah participated in JDHS Swim/Dive his freshman and sophomore years and qualified for state both years. During his junior year Jonah went on Rotary exchange to Germany where he enjoyed the culture and swam a little bit. Jonah’s specialties are butterfly and breaststroke, though he is a pretty good freestyle competitor as well. Jonah helps keep things light at practice when the going gets tough. He seems to find the bright spot in everything the team does.
CJ Umbs - CJ has participated in JDHS Swim/Dive since his freshman year. CJ swims freestyle and backstroke events. He can be counted on to cheer for all of his teammates and meet them with a smile and a high five after they complete their events. CJ is always the first swimmer in the pool for practice and always has a smile on his face.
