Lieutenant Governor Mead Treadwell leads a Men Choose Respect pledge with the male attendees at the Team Alaska Arctic Winter Games Celebration in the Juneau Arts & Cultural Center on Tuesday. Treadwell, Team Alaska Board of Directors President Tim Dillon, and Southeast Team Alaska Board Members Jeff Bush & Jim Powell announced a parternership between Team Alaska and Governor Sean Parnell's Choose Respect Initiative. Fairbanks will host the March 15-22, 2014. Fairbanks Mayor Luke T. Hopkins and host city Chief of Staff Jeff Jacobson attended. Over 2,000 athletes will attend the games, 350-plus from Alaska. "If your state money is going to go into this," Treadwell said of the AWG. "We want everybody to think of themselves as a part of team Alaska." A story will run in tomorrow's Juneau Empire Sports.
