Winter pitch forces athletic events to switch fields

The weekend soccer games between Juneau-Douglas High School and Chugiak High School slated for Friday and Saturday will be moved from the Crimson Bears’ Adair Kennedy Field to neighboring Thunder Mountain High School’s Falcons’ Field, according to a Juneau School District press release.

Winter still has a bite on the pitch at AKF. Activites at the TMHS field will also include an impromtu Saturday track meet to replace a cancelled Sitka meet. If the AKF has thawed by April 20 a Pentathlon is scheduled there with JDHS, TMHS, Skagway and Gustavus.
