Spring is about to get slushy; according to a press release from Eaglecrest Ski Area the local hill is celebrating spring with their annual Slush Cup on Saturday, April 13.
The Slush Cup competition will begin at 1:30pm on Saturday and will take place on Lower Hilary’s run.
The theme for this year’s Slush Cup is “Spring Fling” and participants will attempt to ski or snowboard across the pond filled with frozen slush. Contestants will be judged on style, distance across the pond and best of theme costume. Registration for the Slush Cup will be in the Day Lodge from 10-noon on Saturday morning. All Slush Cup participants must register by noon. Registration fees are $10 for 18 and older and $5 for 10-17 year olds.
“This weekend will be the final weekend of operations for the season,” said Jeffra Clough, Eaglecrest Director of Sales/Marketing. “We would like to thank the community for their support this season and encourage everyone to come up and enjoy the excitement of the final weekend!”
Lifts will operate from 9am – 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The Slush Cup is fun for participants as well as spectators as some of the southeast’s most colorful personalities, and some plain average folks, attempt to navigate across the chilly broth of a special Eaglecrest pond.
