Former four-year starter for the Juneau-Douglas High School Crimson Bears basketball team (2004-07) and current women’s professional player, Talisa Rhea has returned to Juneau to help instruct at the Juneau Fast Break Basketball Camp. The camp began Monday and runs through Saturday and still has openings available. Aside from Rhea, instructors also include former Australian professional player Todd Nealey, 2012 grads and current college players Alec Calloway, Austin Shoemaker and Taylor Swofford, longtime coaching guru George Houston, state champion James Wilson, and many more.
The camp is for females and males in grades 8-12 and provides fundamental basketball instruction with emphasis on individual skill, team play, and execution of basic fundamentals. Campers learn offensive and defensive skills while setting and working toward goals, improving physical fitness and building self-confidence.
