Hooptime basketball team traveling

The Hooptime boy’s high school basketball team is traveling south in hopes of winning games and landing players in colleges later.


Practicing since May 15 the team is hoping to get athletes noticed in the open recruitment period for College coaches and recruiter’s. That time period officially started July 1 for all NCAA Divisions and NAIA Division Colleges and the Hooptime team, comprised of 13 High school students from Juneau Douglas and Thunder Mountain High School, will be in various tournaments south.

The team is comprised of Jacob Calloway (class of 2015), Adam Empson (‘15), Kevin Guimmayen (‘14), Ben Jahn (‘14), Shane Mielke (‘16), Luke Nye (‘14), Josh Palmer (‘14), Gunnar Schultz (‘15), Matt Seymour (‘14), Trent Uddipa (‘14), Mark Uddipa (‘14), Mike Uddipa (‘14), and Kyle White (‘14).

Coached by George Houston and Bob Saviers, the team will be competing at the Varsity level of the following tournaments:

The Tempe, Arizona, Powerhouse Summer Sizzle tournament July 5-7.

The Anaheim, California, Double Pump Summer Tip- off tournament, July 10-14.

The Las Vegas, Nevada, BigFootHoops LV Live tournament, July 17-21.
