Juneau-Douglas High School Crimson Bears players practice recently for their home opener. JDHS will kick off their home schedule with a game against California's Viewpoint Patriots. The Patriots shut out the Thunder Mountain High School Falcons on Tuesday night but the Crimson Bears are a different beast. More senior leadership, a beefer front line on both offense and defense, swift and powerful running backs, crafty receivers, a record-breaking quarterback and stealthy defensive backs will give a quality challenge to the visitors. Viewpoint features a pounding ground game, a talented passer and a kicker who can put the laces on the one-yard line. Game time is 8 p.m. at Adair Kennedy Field for varsity play and 5 p.m. for junior varsity action. Proceeds from the game go to both JDHS and TMHS. Come out and support both our local football teams.
