The JSC competed in a Super G Blastathon March 28, before the state championships. The race was an introduction to Super G for younger skiers (U10-U16).
The challenging two-run course included an off-groomed delay gate and an icy pitch section.
The JSC had several podium finishes including K. Goldstein (fifth and fourth), R. Davies (third and fifth), Tyler Weldon (fifth and third), and H. Jones (second and first).
“For a club that does not train Super G at Eaglecrest we had a great showing and the athletes had a ton of fun,” JSC coach Randy Bates said. “Alyeska was welcoming and put on a great state championship race series. As coaches, we were proud of the improvements over the year and the effort the athletes put out at this race series. The podium finishes are a bonus, demonstrating that JSC is a talented and building program of young ski racers.”
