Swimmer Seid signs with Tigers

Juneau-Douglas High School senior settles on Occidental College

Aidan Seid is headed to the desert this Fall.

Several hours in the pool everyday should help with his acclimatization.

Seid signed a national letter of intent April 8 to swim at Occidental College, a small liberal arts school in Los Angeles, California.

As a Tiger, Seid will compete against eight other Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) member schools.

At the 2016 Alaska School Athletic Association Swim/Dive Championships, Seid established himself as one of the top swimmers in the state. He finished fourth in the 200 yard individual relay and fifth in the 100 yard backstroke.

“The campus is really, really nice. The coach was really enthusiastic and he has a deep history of turning programs around,” Seid said “… A lot of swimmers on their team told me they liked him and I quickly found out that was true.”
