The Thunder Mountain High School girls basketball team finished strong at the Kenai River Challenge, completing a sweep of tourney teams with a 60-32 win over Soldotna on Friday and a 40-33 defeat of host Kenai on Saturday. The Falcons had beaten Seward 55-31 to open the tournament.
Thunder Mountain trailed 9-7 after the first quarter on Saturday.
“It was hard to get in a groove with their pressure under the basket,” senior Ashley Young said. “I got into some foul trouble.”
Young, Cheyenne Ekis, Siosi Tupou and Ava Tompkins were selected to the All-Tournament team.
