Douglas bar up for auction

PP's Douglas Inn, formerly known as Louie's, will be sold to highest bidder Aug. 21. The Internal Revenue Service took over the property from owner Patrick M. Peterson for unpaid taxes. Read more

Tustumena out of service indefinitely

The ferry Tustumena will remain in drydock indefinitely. The Alaska Marine Highway System announced Friday that repair work on the Tustumena failed U.S. Coast Guard inspections. Read more

USFS names new manager for Land and Watershed Management program

Susan Alexander will serve as the new manager of the Land and Watershed Management program for the U.S. Forest Service. The program conducts research on ecosystems in Alaska, Washington and Oregon. Read more

A woman aboard the Coral Princess cruise ship was medevaced to Bartlett Regional Hospital from the Glacier Bay Friday. Read more
