Nike All-American Sandwiches recalled for possible Listeria contamination

Landshire has issued a recall for Nike All-American Sandwiches that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Alaska’s Department of Environmental Conservation has verified this product has been distributed in Alaska.

To date, no illnesses have been reported. However, Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease. Healthy people rarely contract listeriosis. However, those who do contract it could experience high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, as well as serious and sometimes fatal infections in those with weakened immune systems, such as infants, the elderly and persons with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy. People experiencing these symptoms should seek immediate medical attention.

The recalled product can be identified as a pre-packaged, individually-wrapped sandwich that weighs 7.25 ounces. Its UPC Code is 0 9748801741 5 Lot No. is 11 237 6 — printed in black ink on the side or back of the package.

No other products or code dates are affected by this recall.
