Photo: Clan leaders in Sitka

Juneau’s Peter Metcalfe sent along this image titled “Clan Leaders” from Wooshteen Kanaxhtulaneegí Haa At Wuskóowu (Sharing Our Knowledge): A Conference of Tlingit Tribes and Clans, which started Thursday in Sitka. The photo was taken the morning of day one. “This was the first plenary session, which featured a greeting and presentations on protocol by clan leaders,” Metcalfe said. Pictured here, from left to right, are John Neilson of the Chookaneidí Clan, and Herman Davis, John Hanlon, and Ed Kunz, all of the L’uknaxh.ádi Clan. As of yesterday more than 350 people had registered for the event, which ends today at noon.
