JUNEAU — A custody case between Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston has been closed, and an attorney says the two likely will work out any future differences regarding their 3-year-old son on their own.
Alaska court records show the case involving Sarah Palin’s grandson Tripp was closed this month after a lack of activity.
Johnston attorney Rex Butler said Monday the best way to interpret the development is that the parties likely will resolve any problems themselves. An attorney for Bristol Palin didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Bristol Palin and Johnston initially battled over custody. But they agreed in 2010 that Bristol would have primary physical custody and the two would share legal custody, subject to Bristol’s resolution if they couldn’t agree, then-Palin family attorney Thomas Van Flein, said at that time. Johnston was given visitation, and he agreed to pay child support.
An automatic notice of pending dismissal was posted in July because of a lack of activity in the case.
Bristol Palin and Tripp appeared on the recent Lifetime series “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp,” in which Johnston’s presence in his son’s life, or lack thereof, was part of the story line.
Bristol Palin and Johnston were thrust into the national spotlight in 2008, as unwed teenagers expecting a baby, when Sarah Palin was the Republican candidate for vice president. The two have had a tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship, including called-off engagements.
Both have gone on to write books, and Bristol Palin also has appeared on “Dancing with the Stars.” Johnston recently had a baby with his girlfriend.
In a blog post Monday, Bristol Palin said that while she doesn’t have “much interaction” with Johnston, she is happy for him with respect to his new daughter.
“A child is a blessing and I know they are experiencing the joys (and challenges!) of having a newborn,” Bristol Palin wrote. She said Tripp sent the new baby flowers, “and we both wish all the best for her.”

I can't believe how much attention this girl gets for getting pregnant out of wedlock. She even got rich off it. Something else.
I could not agree more.

Welcome to America where the most dysfunctional of our citizens make great income off of allowing TV cameras to follow them around and document their "amazing" lives.
That's funny...
And yet neither one of you could resist clicking on the headline. : )
Well,I for one, have been so
Well,I for one, have been so worried about that couple and that baby without a baby daddy...not.
I give the Palins all the
I give the Palins all the credit in the world for having the smarts to exploit a chance when it jumped in their laps. When their ship came in they were waiting on the dock with their bags packed. People can make fun of them as they want, the Palins are just laughing all the way to the bank. Even Todd is making his mark as a celebrity.
Their $ouls
"Even Todd is making his mark as a celebrity" At what co$t?
The Poor Child
This won't be the last time the family ignores the things that are important to his life, sorry kid welcome to Palinville.
I really don't know how much
I really don't know how much Todd was compensated to show up on that program where celebrities do military stuff. I really didn't bother to watch the show. Nonetheless, I heard snippets that Todd acquitted himself well in the shooting parts.
Anyway, I think Todd is probably pretty happy with his life these days. He doesn't have to go up and work on the pipeline for weeks on end anymore. He can go out and ride his snowmachines as much as he wants.
Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of the Palins. However, as much as anyone wants to take pokes at them, they seem to be doing just fine. I would sure enjoy having a bank account like Sarah's.
Meh......
They're making money because of Sarah Palin really. This is just a side story and benefits the rag world and the palin paparazzi .
