Police seek info on Juneau airport trail vandalism

The Juneau Police Department Crime of the Week for Sept. 28 is in reference to vandalism at the Juneau International Airport.

Sgt. Paul Hatch said in a news release that JPD received a report the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 5 that an unknown person cut the thick barrier ropes that serve as a fence for part of the Airport Dike Trail. The vandalism took place sometime the prior night.

The release states the rope strands are very thick, and the replacement and repair costs are estimated at $5,000.

Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is encouraged to log onto the Juneau Crime Line at juneaucrimeline.com and report the tip. Tipsters are guaranteed anonymity and can be rewarded.
