Governor's Family Picnic set for Tuesday in Juneau

JUNEAU — The Governor’s Family Picnics get under way this week.

The first of the five picnics is scheduled for Friday at the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer. Picnics also are planned for Saturday, in Anchorage and Sunday in Fairbanks, with picnics Tuesday in Juneau and Thursday in Homer.

Gov. Sean Parnell’s office said the annual picnics have been held for more than a decade and are put on with donations and volunteer help. The picnics feature the governor, first lady and administration members helping to serve food.
