Treadwell reports $170K in fundraising

JUNEAU — Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell brought in about $170,000 during the latest reporting period as he gets his campaign for U.S. Senate in Alaska off the ground.

The reporting period covered the second quarter but Treadwell’s fundraising numbers were limited to May and June. He officially announced his candidacy last month.

Treadwell is seeking the GOP nomination for the seat currently held by Democrat Mark Begich. The election is next year.

Begich recently announced raising nearly $1 million during the quarter and having $2 million on hand as of June 30. Joe Miller, another Republican candidate, raised about $18,000 and had nearly $320,000 available.

Treadwell reported raising about $120,000 in contributions. He also lent himself $50,000. He reported having about $130,000 available at the end of June.
