Comment period on halibut plan extended

The public has an additional two weeks to share their views on a proposed halibut catch sharing plan that would affect guided sport and commercial fisheries in Southeast and the Gulf of Alaska.

After receiving numerous requests, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration extended the deadline to Monday, August 26 to accommodate fishermen who might be in the middle of fishing season and therefore unable to comment.

The plan can be reviewed here: http://1.usa.gov/13guKfj.
