Small rise in Juneau unemployment stats

Alaska’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for June was 6.3 percent; up three-tenths of a percent from June’s revised rate. The national average for July was 7.4 percent.

Alaska’s not-seasonally adjusted rate was 5.9 percent for July, down six-tenths of a percentage from June.

The state Department of Labor and Workforce Development says large declines in the unadjusted rate are not unusual from June to July.

Not-seasonally adjusted rates fell in 26 of 29 boroughs and census areas.

The lowest rates of unemployment were in the Municipality of Skagway at 2.3 percent and the Bristol Bay Borough at 1.1 percent.

Unemployment in Southeast decreased by six-tenths of a percentage point.
