Rodell named Revenue commissioner for Alaska

Rodell will continue to call Juneau home

JUNEAU — Gov. Sean Parnell has appointed Angela Rodell as Alaska’s Revenue commissioner.

Rodell had been serving as acting commissioner since August, when Bryan Butcher resigned to work for the Alaska Housing Finance Corp. She previously served as deputy commissioner.

Parnell, in a release, said Rodell is well-versed in fiscal policy and well-respected among financial managers.

According to biographical information provided by the administration, Rodell’s work with the state has included responsibility for debt, cash management and portfolio management. Before joining the state, Rodell served as senior vice president for First Southwest and was a managing director of Arimax Financial Advisors.

Rodell has a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science and a Master of Public Administration.

Rodell will continue to live in Juneau.

Her appointment is subject to legislative approval.
