Pedestrian critically injured by pickup

ANCHORAGE — Anchorage police say a 50-year-man was critically injured when he was struck by a pickup as he crossed a street.

Spokeswoman Jennifer Castro tells the Anchorage Daily News ( that the truck hit Nicholi McCarlo at about 9 a.m. Monday on Boniface Parkway near Camelot Drive.

Castro says by email that McCarlo stepped into traffic from the center of the road.

The driver of the pickup stayed at the scene.

No citations were issued.
