Nearly 4,100 attend open house

JUNEAU — Gov. Sean Parnell’s office says nearly 4,100 people attended this year’s holiday open house.

The annual event, for which more than 24,000 cookies and other treats were made, was held at the Governor’s Mansion in Juneau on Tuesday.

Turnout was better than average, which Parnell had put at around 2,200 to 3,500, depending on weather.

Tuesday’s weather was chilly and damp, with slushy streets.
