JUNEAU — Gov. Sean Parnell and his wife, Sandy, will host the sixth annual Governor's Family Picnic Wednesday in Juneau.
The event will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Sandy Beach in Douglas, according to an earlier Empire report.
Free food will be the fare, including 200 pounds of salmon donated by John Moller. Moller works as a commercial fisherman and also as the governor's rural affairs adviser.
For those wanting more traditional picnic food, there will also be hot dogs, chips and cookies.
The Parnells will help serve, as will members of the governor's cabinet. Previous picnics have attracted more than 3,000 people in past years.
The last picnic to happen this year will be in Ketchikan from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 24 at Ward Lake.
