FAIRBANKS - Troopers have recovered hockey equipment stolen in November from Delta Junction.

The gear was found in a wooded area not far from the Liewer-Olmstead Hockey Rink. Troopers aren't saying what led them to that location for fear of jeopardizing the investigation.

About $2,000 in gear was stolen. Hardest hit from the mid-November theft was the Su-Valley Rams hockey team, which lost several pairs of skates, helmets and gloves. Their game against the Delta Husky squad had to be canceled because of the loss of equipment.

Officials also reported damaged to a concession stand, a refrigerator and a freezer during the incident.
