The Juneau Senior Center has a lot to be thankful for this year.

To all the marvelous volunteers (over 85) who help us with everything from folding newsletters to waiting on tables to delivering Meals on Wheels - thank you.

To the Gastineau Channel Senior Center's Advisory Council, who raised funds and met regularly with great deliberation - thank you.

To our loyal staff, who go far beyond what is required of them - thank you.

To our Office Support up "on the hill," for all your continuing help in making sure there is direction, funds and equipment to continue all the needed senior programs - thank you.

To Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, for the help your staff gives to my staff in keeping our building safe and pleasant thank you.

To the Juneau Fire and Police departments, for keeping us safe and unafraid - thank you.

To the Alaska Commission on Aging, for all your support - thank you.

To all our vendors, who keep us supplied with what we need in a timely manner - thank you.

To the Juneau Empire, for printing our menus, articles about seniors and for helping us out when we need it - thank you.

The family of Vincent Oldaker would like to thank all our Juneau friends who have helped during this difficult time. In October, Vincent was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an incurable form of brain cancer. Thank you to all who have prayed, sent cards and well-wishes, and made contributions to his medical fund. It is with great appreciation that we remember each and every one of you. Vincent is doing well, undergoing aggressive treatment and at this time his prognosis is uncertain.
