I want to thank the people who contributed train items or their time to make the Holiday Model Train Rally at the Juneau-Douglas City Museum on Saturday a success.
Thanks to Henry Jebe, who not only came and helped but wore a real engineer's hat; Vivian Bearden, who said she didn't know a darned thing about trains but ran them like a professional; Gary Horton, who brought impressive items from his collection; Conan Leegard, particularly for maintaining control over the HO operation; and Ken Lea, for joining our small force after claiming not to be an enthusiast.
Thanks to the following people who lent us trains, accessories and decorative items: Becky Orford, Bill Paulick, Jim Dillon, Don Birdseye, Mary Pat Wyatt, Carol Fleek, Pete Bernstein, Ted Smith, H.D. Scougal, Lachlan MacKinnon, Eric Leegard and the Tlingit and Haida Regional Housing Authority. Special thanks to Jane Lindsey, Jane Terry and the staff of the city museum, for enabling the event to happen. My apologies to anybody I may have inadvertently failed to mention and thanks to the community of Juneau, which joined us and made it worthwhile for me just by enjoying it. Happy holidays everybody!
