... for Eaglecrest event

Thanks to all who attended the Christmas Eve 2000 celebration at Eaglecrest. The snow elves made enough snow on the platter run for torchlight parades, there were homemade cookies for all and the twinkling stars overhead lit the way for Santa's annual visit!

It was a special evening made more special by the participants. Thanks to all of you who joined us in snowflake making and ornament decorating. The lodge looks great!

Thanks especially to Santa, Rick Trostel and his Thrushill Brass Youth Ensemble, as well as Ann Boocheever for leading us in seasonal carols.

We look forward to more special events at your community for winter fun this season.

The Eaglecrest staff

... for gift donations

Thank you again to the many people who helped with Operation Christmas Child in Juneau. You were incredibly generous - filling shoeboxes full of Christmas gifts, candy and toys for children overseas. The 1,204 boxes that were shipped out from Juneau joined with over 3,000 more in Anchorage to make a shipment of around 5,000 gifts from Alaska to children in the Russian Far East. The last message we had was that they were headed for the Russian Far East - hopefully Providenyia and Petropavolosk.

A special thank you to World Wide Movers, Alaska Airlines, Douglas Trucking, the United States Coast Guard and Alaska Marine Lines who donated shipping and trucking services to Operation Christmas Child. Without your help, Juneau could not have participated. Thank you Hudson's Shoes, Footlocker, Payless Shoes, Big Kmart and Fred Meyer who helped us collect hundreds of shoe boxes for the gifts. Thank you to Northern Echoes Bible Shoppe, El Sombrero, Hearthside Books, the Celebration 2000 organizers and the many Juneau churches who displayed information about Operation Christmas Child and helped us get the word out.

Thanks to the many people who helped bring the gifts to Chapel by the Lake, pack the gift boxes into containers and organize them for shipping. Thank you, Chapel by the Lake, for use of your facility. Thank you all, for helping with Operation Christmas Child.
