Academy to offer free construction trades classes after school

JUNEAU - Juneau Construction Academy will offer free Construction Trades classes after school for all Juneau School District high school students. Classes held at JDHS, and transportation assistance is provided.

"Computer Assisted Drafting-CAD I " will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from Jan. 26 to March 18. "Welding (Metals I)" will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from Jan. 25 to March 18.

Classes are sponsored by the partners of the Juneau Construction Academy including the Construction Education Foundation and Alaska Construction Academies, Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Alaska Department of Commerce and Economic Development, Denali Commission, Juneau School District, Southeast Regional Resource Center, University of Alaska Southeast, Alaska Works Partnership, Southeast Alaska Guidance Association, Southeast Alaska Building Industry Association, Juneau Building Trades Council, Juneau Job Center, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 262 and the Tlingit and Haida Housing Authority.
