Yakutat Senior Center offers hot lunches

Posted: Sunday, January 03, 2010

YAKUTAT - All senior citizens, age 60 and older, are invited to enjoy a hot lunch at noon Monday through Friday at the Yakutat Senior Center located in the Sunrise Apartments on YTT Drive.

Thanks to the financial support of the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe, Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority, the state of Alaska and community donors, the meals are available five days a week.

The Yakutat Senior Center is a friendly place where people 60 and over can come to participate in a variety of activities, classes, meetings and eat a hot, nutritious lunch while socializing with others. Ideas for new activities or events are always welcome. Each meal is made up of the main dish, salad, hot vegetable and bread, rice or noodles, milk and a dessert. Home-delivered meals are available for those elders who are unable to come to the Senior Center for lunch.

For further information about services for seniors living in Yakutat, contact site manager Marianne Newlun at 907-784-3468.
