Fireworks result in few injuries

ANCHORAGE — There were a few fireworks-related injuries this New Year’s Eve — the first time in years that fireworks were legal in Anchorage.

However, a police spokeswoman says the police fielded lots of complaints about fireworks and noise before, during and after legal hours.

Police say the use of fireworks this holiday caused no fires.

Police issued no citations and made no arrests.
