Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


About 4 a.m. today, a man, 41, was arrested for assault on Whittier Street and then lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Alcohol was involved in the incident.

Thefts, lost and found property:

About 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, a woman, 26, reported the theft of several items from her unlocked vehicle parked on Sunset Street.

About 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, a woman, 41, reported her dark gray Nokia cell phone lost somewhere in Bartlett Regional Hospital. The phone had a black leather cover. The woman called later to say she had recovered the phone.

Shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, a man, 55, reported the theft of his burgundy briefcase at the Bergman Hotel. The case contained an address book, miscellaneous booklets, pills, vitamins and paperwork. He estimated the loss at $30.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

Shortly after noon Wednesday, a man, 32, was arrested at Super 8 Motel for criminal mischief after vandalizing a hotel room and breaking out a window. He was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Alcohol was involved in the incident.


About 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, a man, 41, was arrested at the Imperial Bar for being an intoxicated person on a licensed premises. He was transported to and lodged at state prison.

Vehicle accidents:

Shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday, a girl, 16, operating a 1984 Chevy truck, backed into a parked 1997 Toyota Camry in the Big KMart parking lot. There was no damage to the truck. The Camry sustained about $700 damage. There were no injuries.


* Shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, a woman, 27, was arrested on John Street in Douglas for driving with a canceled license. She was released at the scene.
